Can’t Afford NOT To Give!

                                                                 Philippians 4:15-23

Chapter 1 – single mind (to live is Christ).

Chapter 2 – submissive mind (others first).

Chapter 3 – spiritual mind (vv. 1-11 – Paul’s past; vv. 12-16 – Paul’s present; vv. 17-21 – Paul’s future).

Chapter 4 – secure mind.

 

I.                   God will always take care of His work, with or without our participation – vv. 15-16.

II.                What happens when we give back to the Lord . . .  – vv. 17-23.

A.    God credits our heavenly account – v. 17.

Matthew 6:19-21: “Do not accumulate for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. 6:20 But accumulate for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."        

B.     Our gifts please God – v. 18.

C.     God supplies our every need according to His glorious riches

Proverbs 11:25: “A generous person will be enriched, and the one who provides water for others will himself be satisfied.”

Proverbs 19:17: “The one who is gracious to the poor lends to the Lord, and the Lord will repay him for his good deed.”  

Matthew 5:7: “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.”

III.             Give back to the Lord, you can’t afford not to!

 

When you give, your heavenly account gets credited and God supplies all your earthly needs.
