OUTLINE
I. Qualifications for ministry (the job of a pastor) – vv. 15-17, 19.
A. He loves the Lord - Jesus is the number one priority in his life – v. 15.
B. He knows himself - understands his heart’s inability to love like it should – vv. 15-17.
C. He is humble – cannot believe that Jesus, knowing him the way He does, uses him nevertheless – vv . 15-17.
D. He is honest – he knows and is open about his limitations – v. 17.
E. He maintains a consistent and growing relationship with the Lord – v. 19.
II. The job description of a pastor – vv. 15-17.
A. To feed people the word of God.
B. To shepherd the people.
III. He understands the cost – v. 18.
A good pastor will feed the people, shepherd them, and be ready to lay his life down.
