Outline
I. HEAVEN’S PERSPECTIVE provides the right focus and yields vision – vv. 13-17, 22-23.
A. Through enabling us to distinguish between that which is sacred and that which is sinful – vv. 13-16.
i. Passover and using it to make money.
ii. The temple and its commercialization.
B. Through opening our eyes to “subtle” fingerprints of God – v. 17.
C. Through effecting change within us over time – v. 22.
D. Through securing our eternal destiny – v. 23.
II. WORLDLY OUTLOOK incapacitates the life and impairs the vision – vv. 18-21, 24-25.
A. Through blurring the lines between right and wrong – Passover & the usage of the temple – vv. 13-14.
B. Through finger pointing rather than soul searching – Jesus cleans the temple and instead of seeing the error of their usage of the temple, they focus on whether He had the right to do what He did – v. 18.
C. Through limiting one’s perspective – they totally miss the point of His answer – vv. 19-20.
D. Through implanting pessimism about the supernatural – they immediately focus on the impossibility of the task rather than on the uniqueness of His Person – v. 20.
E. Through keeping one isolated from positive influences – vv. 24-25.
III. CONTACTS OF FAITH – DON’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT THEM!
