I. Our traditions, if unchecked, can get in the way of our message – vv. 10-17.
a. They consume our attention
b. They make us miss God's work around us - vv. 1-10.
c. They often cause us to miss the point - v. 12.
II. Our message, still unchanged, is Jesus Christ – vv. 18-30.
a. Who is fully divine (His past) – vv. 18-23.
i. In work – v. 19.
ii. In knowledge – v. 20.
iii. In power – v. 21.
iv. In judgment – v. 22.
v. In honor – v. 23.
b. Who is the only way to heaven (the present) – vv. 24-25.
i. Hear Jesus’ message (the gospel) – v. 24.
ii. Believe in the Father – v. 24.
iii. You will live forever with God – v. 24-25.
c. Who will judge the world one day (the future) - vv. 26-30.
iv. The Son has the authority to grant eternal life and to judge the world – vv. 25-26.
v. The Son will judge the dead justly – vv. 27-30.
