The Life That Truly Satisfies – In Christ Alone

                   I.            Different motives for seeking Christ – The Setting – vv. 22-25.

                II.            Men have always looked for a life that satisfies – vv. 26-34.

a.       A life that satisfies cannot be found in the material stuff – v. 26-27, 30-31, 34.

                                                                          i.      The material stuff  has an expiration date – v. 27.

                                                                        ii.      The spiritual food lasts forever – v. 27

                                                                      iii.      The spiritual food is given by Christ, who has God’s quality stamp – v. 27.

b.      There is no morality that satisfies without the spiritual foundation (The Moral is Rooted in the Spiritual) – vv. 28-29, 32-33.

                                                                          i.      Wondering how to live a moral life? – v. 28.

                                                                        ii.      There can be no real morality without the faith in Christ – v. 29.

                                                                      iii.      Seeing is not believing… - vv. 30-31.

                                                                      iv.      Christ is the true bread from heaven given by God – vv. 32-33.

             III.            The only life that truly satisfies is found in Christ alone (the Bread of life) – vv. 35-40.

a.       Only in Christ can real life be found – vv. 35

b.      Only those whom the Father chooses will find real life in Christ – vv. 36-37.

c.       Those that are chosen will be preserved forever – vv. 38-40.

                                                                          i.      They are eternally secure in Christ – v. 38-39.

                                                                        ii.      They will rise again at the last day – v. 40.
