The Big Idea:
In this ominous introduction to the last part of God’s judgment, the believers are encouraged while the world is forewarned that the end is in sight.
I. Seven final plagues complete God’s righteous judgment on the world – v.1
II. Human side - the Tribulation believers praise God for His fair vengeance upon the world’s depravity – vv.2-4.
A. His works are great.
B. His power is unlimited
C. His justice and truthfulness are unparalleled
D. His sovereignty over the nations is undisputed
E. His holiness is unprecedented
F. His righteousness is revealed.
III. Divine side – John spiritually grasps the divine reason behind the judgment – vv.5-8.
